Why Counselling?
Life is often not easy; if you are facing a challenging period and are struggling to cope, then you are certainly not alone. People come to therapy for many different reasons; perhaps you feel stuck but are not quite sure why, you struggle with relationships or live in the shadow of past events. There is no such thing as a problem that is too small, too big or too ‘strange.’ You may have been finding things difficult for a long time or you may have experienced a sudden upheaval in your life. Either way, alongside my training and my own life experience I provide a supportive space in which to confront any issues that you face.
I can provide the time and space in which to reflect on the experiences and relationships that have had a strong impact on your life. I can support you to gain a greater understanding of how you came to be where you are today, highlight your own power and limitations, provide new perspectives and help you to understand yourself better. Therapy can also equip you with the tools to confront life’s challenges in a way that feels much more manageable. Therapy can be short term, lasting a few weeks, or longer term, depending on your needs. Any questions you may have can be discussed at an initial session or as they come up.
